MS4 (Stormwater discharges from Muncipal Sources)

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Watershed Management issues MS4 permits. These permits govern storm water discharges from small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4). Click here for the definition of what is an "illicit discharge" - ILLICIT DISCHARGE.  

As an MS4 permittee, Union Township must comply with 6 Minimum Control Measures (known as MCM's) when required to follow the MS4 program.  CURRENTLY UNION TOWNSHIP RECEIVED A WAIVER FOR THE PROGRAM FROM DEP AND IS NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.  The following is for information purposes:
